Safety & Health Officer

We are looking for an experienced and certified Safety & Health Officer to lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) programs across project sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for risk assessments, safety audits, incident investigations, statutory reporting, and liaising with authorities to ensure full compliance with legal and client requirements.

Job description

Develop and implement OHS policies and procedures.
Advise staff on safety-related topics and conduct regular risk assessments.
Review and update safety policies to comply with the latest legislation.
Organize and deliver OHS training programs and toolbox talks.
Inspect sites and activities for compliance with safety regulations.
Prevent unsafe practices and stop dangerous activities when required.
Investigate incidents and manage worker compensation claims.
Prepare and submit mandatory reports: PSP, ERP, PEMP, HSE, Environmental & CIDB/JKKP reports.
Lead HSE and coordination meetings, and report HSE performance statistics.
Maintain communication with authorities (DOSH, CIDB, JKKP) and attend inspections.
Assist with COVID-19 SOP compliance and implementation.

Job requirements

Diploma in Environmental, Health, or Safety field (DOSH-recognized).
Certified Safety & Health Officer (Green Book Holder).
At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
Well-versed in OHSE standards, regulations, and site practices.
Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Familiar with reporting formats and statutory submission procedures.
