Grid Engineer

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Grid Engineer to manage the testing, commissioning, and operational reliability of grid-connected solar farms. The role involves overseeing system installation, ensuring grid compliance, developing O&M plans, and providing technical support to the operations team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in solar project execution, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors and site teams.

Job description

Oversee testing and commissioning of electrical systems and grid connections.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the commissioning phase.
Develop and implement operation and maintenance (O&M) plans.
Ensure continuous performance and reliability of electrical infrastructure.
Provide training and technical support on grid integration and system operations.
Monitor site installation progress and perform regular inspections for QA/QC.
Ensure all electrical works meet design specifications and safety standards.
Coordinate work schedules and activities with subcontractors.
Prepare daily site reports and update management on progress and issues.
Offer engineering solutions to address site-specific challenges.

Job requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in electrical engineering, preferably in solar farm/grid-connected projects.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of grid integration and electrical system design
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes and safety standards
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Malay (spoken and written).
Others: Strong coordination, reporting, and site management capabilities.
