ESG Analyst

Job description

• Assist in delivering ESG and sustainability projects for clients, including assessments, strategy development, reporting, and regulatory alignment.
• Conduct ESG risk and materiality assessments across industries.
• Support the development of ESG roadmaps, frameworks, and tailored client recommendations.
• Research ESG regulations, standards, trends, and peer practices.
• Contribute to ESG reporting and disclosures in line with frameworks such as SDGs, GRI, SASB, CSRD, TCFD, and Bursa Malaysia Guidelines.
• Analyze ESG data and sustainability disclosures to support benchmarking and gap analysis.
• Coordinate project timelines and deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Engage with clients to gather inputs, present findings, and update project progress.
• Contribute to internal knowledge-building, toolkits, and thought leadership materials.
• Stay current on evolving ESG issues, regulations, and market trends to inform client work.

Job requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
• Skills:
  
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with key ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., SDGs, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD, Bursa Guidelines).
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ESG data tools/platforms is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and quality.
  • Consultative mindset and confidence in client-facing environments.
  • Collaborative attitude with a strong interest in sustainability.

• Years of Experience: 1–3 years of experience in ESG or sustainability consulting, advisory, or related roles.
• Language Proficiency (Spoken): English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an advantage).
• Language Proficiency (Written): English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an advantage).
